About the Role

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Geography Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you’ll inspire students to develop their geographical knowledge, curiosity, and understanding of the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive Geography lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE examinations where applicable.
  • Develop students’ understanding of physical and human geography, including topics such as climate change, ecosystems, urbanisation, population, and global development.
  • Encourage students to develop strong geographical enquiry, research, analytical, and fieldwork skills.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies, resources, maps, data, and technology to support engaging and effective learning.
  • Plan and deliver fieldwork and practical geographical activities where appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students’ progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every student is supported to achieve their potential.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students to understand the world through geographical learning.
  • strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
