General Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across a number of primary schools in Gateshead.

We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and supportive Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.

Our partner schools are looking for TAs to support pupils across a variety of roles, including:

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Supporting small intervention groups to help children make progress
• Working alongside the class teacher to support a full class
• Supporting pupils with SEND and their individual learning needs
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Supporting children with their academic, social and emotional development

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Are passionate about supporting children's learning and development
• Have a patient, nurturing and encouraging approach
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Are confident working independently as well as part of a wider school team
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Hold, or are willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check

Experience working in a school or with SEND is desirable, but not essential. We are also keen to hear from graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, childcare professionals and individuals with transferable experience who are looking to develop a career in education.
