Functional Skills Tutor – NG9 (Nottingham)

Are you passionate about helping learners develop essential life and academic skills? We’re looking for a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support students in the NG9 (Nottingham) area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver personalised, face-to-face tuition and support learners in achieving their goals in English and Maths.

Location: Nottingham, NG9
Schedule: Monday to Friday – School Hours
Contract: Part-time / Ongoing
Setting: SEN / Alternative Provision

✨ About the Role

You will deliver engaging Functional Skills sessions on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting students who may face additional barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills lessons in English and Maths
• Plan and adapt sessions based on individual learning needs
• Support students with SEN, SEMH, or gaps in education
• Build confidence and encourage independence
• Monitor progress and provide feedback

✅ Requirements

• Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills
• Strong knowledge of English and Maths
• Experience working with children or young people
• SEN experience (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
