  • Deliver high-quality, engaging 1:1 and group-based functional skills tuition sessions to learners.
  • Create and implement tailored lesson plans and resources to meet the specific needs of each learner.
  • Assess learners' progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and techniques to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Identify individual learner needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience and share best practises.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in functional skills education and implement relevant changes in teaching approaches.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring functional skills.
  • Experience working 1:1 with learners.
  • Experience working 1:1 with learners.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective tuition sessions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated, hardworking, and resilient.

This is a temporary position with part-time hours. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will primarily work in an educational environment, delivering tuition sessions to learners. The role may involve some travel within the East Midlands region. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain accurate records and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience for learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
