I am recruiting for experienced Behaviour Mentors to support students within mainstream secondary schools across Central and South Bristol.

These roles are focused on young people who may be disengaged from education, struggle with emotional regulation or present with challenging and sometimes unpredictable behaviour.

Schools need people who are calm, resilient and consistent, but above all, brilliant at building relationships. You'll often be supporting students who need time to develop trust, so being reliable and able to show up with the same positive approach each day is incredibly important.

Due to the locations of the schools and provisions I support, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

As a Driving Behaviour Mentor, you may:

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Support young people who are disengaged or at risk of exclusion
• Help students manage frustration and regulate their emotions
• Support students during challenging or heightened situations
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Deliver mentoring and targeted interventions
• Support students within lessons, inclusion hubs and pastoral spaces
• Encourage improved attendance, engagement and participation
• Work closely with teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff
• Act as a consistent and positive role model throughout the school day

You'll need to be someone who is:

✔ Resilient and able to avoid taking behaviour personally

✔ Empathetic while maintaining clear boundaries

✔ Adaptable to different students, schools and situations

✔ Reliable and committed to full-time work

✔ Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team

Previous experience working with children or young people is required, particularly if you've worked with behaviour, SEMH or vulnerable learners.

Strong transferable experience outside of schools will also be considered where you have worked directly with young people presenting with additional or behavioural needs.

• Full UK driving licence
• Access to your own vehicle
• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Confidence supporting a range of behaviour needs
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Full-time Monday-Friday availability
• A reliable and consistent approach
• Enhanced Child-Only DBS, or willingness to apply for one

• Make a genuine difference to young people who need consistent support
• Work within mainstream secondary schools across Central and South Bristol
• Develop specialist experience in behaviour, SEMH and intervention
• Access ongoing CPD and training
• Work alongside experienced pastoral and SEND professionals
