1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Wigan – September 2026 Start

We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs within a primary school in Wigan.

This is a full-time role where you will play a vital role in supporting a child’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting the pupil to access learning activities
  • Implementing strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals
  • Promoting independence and confidence
  • Monitoring and recording progress

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND (autism/complex needs desirable)
  • Be calm, patient, and nurturing
  • Be able to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Be adaptable and resilient
