Are you experienced in working with children and looking for a rewarding role within education? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming secondary school in the Pontypridd area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping young people succeed, building positive relationships, and making a real difference in the classroom every day.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide academic, behavioural, and emotional support throughout the school day. You will play an important role in helping pupils engage with their learning and reach their full potential.

  • Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions where required.
  • Support pupils who may require additional assistance with their learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate updates to teaching staff.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have previous experience working with children, either within a school, childcare setting, youth work environment, sports coaching role, or similar.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people.
  • Be confident building rapport with secondary-aged pupils (11-16).
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Have a positive approach to behaviour management.
  • Be committed to supporting students both academically and personally.

Teaching Personnel can assist successful applicants with obtaining:
