Smile Education, Northwest is now recruiting for a full-time Mathematics Teacher for a secondary school based in Oldham and the nearby areas in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Longsight, Westwood, Featherstall and Derker.

What does the role involve?
  • Planning and delivering effective lessons that meet the National Curriculum and are suitable for all pupils aged 11 to 16.
  • Ensuring all your lessons, units, and projects are clearly understood by your pupils.
  • Staying current with any changes and developments to the national teaching curriculum.
  • Working with your colleagues to coordinate lesson plans where other subjects can complement your Maths lessons.
  • Being able to adapt your instructional materials and teaching methods to meet the classes varying learning abilities.
  • Creating lesson plans that deliver a balance of instruction, demonstration, and work time, so that pupils are provided with the opportunity to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Being creative and enthusiastic about using different teaching methods, including solo work, group work, whole-class work, demonstrations, and experiments.
 


What do you need?
  • A Mathematics-related education degree/experience teaching Maths to secondary students
  • A valid QTS
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (If you do not hold this, we can arrange for you at a cost of £44, which is refundable once you have completed ten days in your new role.)
  • Knowledge of the UK Secondary Curriculum and the subjects
  • Able and willing to travel to the area
  • 2 education-based references
  • A passion for teaching
  • Good approach to behaviour management
  • A determined, hard-working attitude

Immediate start is available.

The school can offer you security with the role as it is a long-term position for at least 1 academic year.
