As a Food Technology Teacher, you teach KS3 and KS4 students how to work practically, safely, and with purpose. You are not just delivering a subject — you are teaching skills students will actually use beyond the classroom

In your kitchen

Students know where to stand and what to do
Instructions are followed, not guessed
Time is managed carefully
Safety is understood, not ignored
Progress is visible in every lesson

Your responsibilities

Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
Plan practical and theory lessons with clear structure
Manage equipment, ingredients, and movement in the room
Teach food safety, preparation techniques, and organisation
Support coursework and assessment requirements
Maintain a calm, purposeful working environment

Requirements

Experience teaching Food Technology or strong practical background
Confidence managing practical classroom environments

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly candidates with catering, hospitality, or food industry experience
