Looking for a full-time Food & Nutrition teaching role within a supportive secondary school environment?
Smile Education is working with a welcoming secondary school seeking a dedicated Food & Nutrition Teacher to cover maternity leave from September 2026 until March 2027. The successful candidate will teach Food & Nutrition across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition.
This role would suit an experienced teacher, ECT, or a passionate Food specialist looking to join a supportive department within a well-established school.
🏫 The Role
- Teach Food & Nutrition across KS3–KS4
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
- Prepare students for GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition examinations
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and classroom management within practical lessons
- Support student progress, engagement, and achievement
- Work collaboratively with the wider Technology department
✅ What We’re Looking For
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food & Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
- GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition teaching experience essential
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confident managing practical classroom environments safely and effectively
- Reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach
