Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a highly specialised and nurturing through-school supporting children and young people aged 3-19 . The setting supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and provides a safe, structured, and compassionate environment where learning is tailored to meet individual needs .

Pupils may have complex physical, medical, sensory, and communication needs, and the school places a strong emphasis on care, dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion . Staff work closely as a supportive, multidisciplinary team to help every pupil thrive at each stage of their educational journey. We are currently seeking flexible supply Teaching Assistants who are passionate about SEN and eager to make a meaningful difference in a care-led educational setting ✨.


As a Teaching Assistant in a PMLD setting, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex physical, medical, sensory, and learning needs . Support may be provided on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, ensuring pupils feel safe, supported, and able to engage with their daily learning and care routines.

Please note: There is potential for personal care duties, including:

  • PEG feeding
  • Nappy changing
  • Assisting with toileting and personal hygiene
  • Supporting physical movement and positioning

  • Supporting pupils with PMLD in the classroom and throughout the school day
  • Assisting with learning activities aligned with individual EHCPs
  • Providing physical and emotional support to promote wellbeing and engagement
  • ️ Supporting communication needs, including non-verbal methods
  • Carrying out personal care duties respectfully and confidently
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Maintaining a calm, patient, and nurturing approach at all times
  • ️ Following safeguarding, health, and safety procedures

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) registered to the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel
  • Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to obtain registration
  • Have experience or a strong interest in SEN and PMLD environments
  • Be comfortable supporting personal care needs
  • Be reliable, flexible, and professional
  • Be able to maintain consistent communication with your Teaching Personnel consultant
