EYFS Teaching Assistant New

Location: BS3, Bristol
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for early years and additional needs? We are working with a primary school in the BS3 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS class, which has a high number of pupils with additional needs.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who can bring patience, structure and a calm approach to support young children in their earliest stages of learning.

The Role:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum within a SEN heavy class
• Providing support to pupils with a range of additional needs, both individually and in small groups
• Helping children access learning through play based and structured activities
• Supporting communication, social skills and emotional regulation
• Assisting with daily routines, transitions and independence skills
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
• Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
• Contributing to observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework

We Are Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or early years setting (essential)
• Experience working with early years or primary aged children
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Confidence supporting a range of additional needs within a busy classroom
• A genuine passion for early years education and child development
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
