We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. You will support children in a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment, helping them to develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Location: Nelson
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities
  • Work with small groups and individual children to support learning and development
  • Promote positive behaviour and support children’s emotional wellbeing
  • Help prepare and maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Observe, record and contribute to assessments of children’s progress
  • Support children with personal care where required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents/carers

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working in an EYFS setting (school or nursery)
  • Hold a relevant qualification (Level 2 or 3 in Early Years preferred)
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Be patient, caring and passionate about early childhood development
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
