We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and dedicated Reception Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Preston from 1st September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate EYFS practitioner to play a key role in shaping children's first experiences of school and fostering a love of learning from the very beginning.

The successful candidate will ideally be available for 1-2 days during July 2026 to meet their new class and ensure a smooth transition period. 

As our Reception Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
  • Support children's development across the seven areas of learning:
    • Communication and Language
    • Physical Development
    • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
    • Literacy
    • Mathematics
    • Understanding the World
    • Expressive Arts and Design
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive
  • Observe, assess, and monitor children's progress, maintaining accurate records and learning journeys
  • Foster children's confidence, independence, communication, and social development
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through nurturing classroom practice
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEND staff, and the wider school team
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support each child's learning and transition into school
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare responsibilities are upheld at all times
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching within EYFS, ideally Reception class
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development
  • Is warm, caring, patient, and enthusiastic
  • Can create inspiring learning opportunities through play and exploration
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Works effectively as part of a team
  • Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for every child
