Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Central Cambridge to recruit a part-time Level 3 qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant with SEND experience.

We are offering a mix of ad hoc supply and longer-term placements within Early Years settings. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant seeking flexible part-time work, with the opportunity to secure more consistent, long-term placements in supportive school environments.


The Role
As a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant working through Teaching Personnel, you will:

  • Support the delivery of engaging and play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and preparing activities and resources
  • Support children's early development, communication, and social skills
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment

A Typical Day May Include

  • Supporting children during structured and play-based learning activities
  • Providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs
  • Delivering targeted interventions to support early development
  • Assisting with phonics, early numeracy, and communication activities
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Helping with classroom setup and organisation
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and wellbeing

Who We're Looking For

  • Essential: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Essential: recent and relevant UK-based experience in an EYFS setting
  • Essential: experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and adaptable attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
