Teaching Assistant
Location: Wirral & Liverpool
Start: Immediate & September opportunities available
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Long-term placements
Pay: £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Teaching Personnel is partnering with a well-established trust of schools across the Wirral and Liverpool areas to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants for a range of Alternative Provision, SEMH, specialist SEN and mainstream settings.
We have multiple long-term, full-time opportunities available across both Wirral and Liverpool, supporting pupils who require additional assistance accessing education due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or special educational needs (SEN). Positions are available for both immediate starts and the upcoming September academic year.
Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will support pupils with needs such as SEMH, ASD, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours, and moderate to complex learning difficulties. Many settings offer smaller class sizes and a highly personalised approach, allowing you to make a real impact on pupil engagement, confidence, and progress.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable young people in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
You may have experience working with children or young people in education, alternative provision, youth work, care, or support settings. Above all, you will be patient, resilient, empathetic, and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
You will be confident building strong relationships, remaining calm under pressure, and effectively supporting pupils' behavioural and emotional needs.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ's on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
