We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Estates Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of estate services across the site. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment for students, staff, and visitors.
You will combine practical, on-the-ground leadership with effective management of systems, processes, and people. Leading the Estates Team and coordinating contractors, you will ensure all maintenance, compliance, and operational tasks are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
- Lead and coordinate the Estates Team and Minibus drivers to ensure consistent high standards of work and behaviour
- Provide hands-on supervision, supporting the team with both operational tasks and leadership
- Organise and oversee contractors, ensuring all works are safe, compliant, and cost-effective
- Promote and embed a strong Health & Safety and Safeguarding culture across the estate
- Oversee the Estates helpdesk, using systems (e.g. Civica) to monitor performance and improve response times
- Manage delegated budgets, ensuring value for money and compliant procurement
- Act as Deputy for the Operations Manager (Estates & Safety) when required
- Support small-scale building and maintenance projects from planning through to completion
- Manage staff rotas and ensure effective resource planning, including out-of-hours response where needed
- Lead on staff performance, development, and appraisals to build a high-performing team
- Support operational continuity, including undertaking manual and site duties when required
- Manage Trust minibuses, including maintenance, compliance, and operational planning
