We welcome applications from experienced tutors, teachers, learning mentors, SEN specialists, youth workers, pastoral staff, HLTAs, TAs, intervention staff, and other professionals with experience supporting children and young people with SEND.

About the Role

As an EOTAS Tutor, you will deliver personalised 1:1 sessions to primary or secondary-aged pupils who are currently unable to access mainstream education. Many of the students we support may present with:

  • SEND
  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Behavioural challenges
  • School refusal or emotionally based school avoidance
  • Anxiety
  • Medical needs

Sessions are delivered during school hours, either within the pupil's home or in appropriate community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, tailored learning sessions that meet individual student needs
  • Support pupils both academically and emotionally
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Help learners regain confidence and develop a more positive attitude towards education
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit a range of learning styles and additional needs
  • Provide support in core subjects, including English and Maths
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback where required

Why Join Quantum Scholars?

  • Flexible part-time opportunities to suit your availability
  • Meaningful work with a genuine and lasting impact
  • The chance to support pupils who thrive outside of traditional classroom settings
  • Varied and rewarding work across Wokingham and Berkshire

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • A background in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, youth work, pastoral care, or intervention support
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full Right to Work in the UK
  • Ability to travel for in-person sessions across Wokingham and surrounding areas

QTS and formal teaching qualifications are welcomed but are not essential for all opportunities. A degree in a relevant subject area would also be advantageous.

Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this role.
