Do you have experience supporting children with special needs?

Are you interested in providing one-on-one support outside of traditional school settings?

This English tutor role may be perfect if you have prior teaching, teaching assistant, one-on-one SEN support, or tutoring experience and seek flexible employment.

As an English tutor, your responsibilities would include:

  • Assisting children with Special Education Needs like ASD, SEMH and more, offering personalised support in their homes, care facilities, or agreed public locations like libraries.
  • Developing tailored resources to aid each child's English language development.
  • Engaging children in tasks and ensuring accessibility to learning materials.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies effectively.

This role offers an opportunity to enhance your skills and boost your CV. Positions are located in the Nottinghamshire area, accessible via road and bus.

Key qualifications for an English tutor:

  • Experience with SEN, whether as a teaching assistant, in one-on-one support, or similar roles.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, supportive sessions.
  • Skills in building pupils' confidence and facilitating learning.
  • Previous experience managing  behavior in children.
  • Proficiency in tracking pupils' progress and providing feedback.

All applicants must undergo background checks and hold a current DBS certificate (registered with the update service), with assistance provided by Teaching Personnel if necessary.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, approximately 09:00 - 16:00.
