Supply Desk is looking to expand our pool of English Teachers for secondary schools across Sussex.

We are keen to hear from passionate English Teachers who can inspire pupils through literature, language and communication and who are looking for flexible or longer-term teaching opportunities.

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and/or KS4

• Teach English Language and Literature

• Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations where required

• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs

• Assess and monitor pupil progress

• Provide constructive feedback

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement

• Support pupils with SEND

• Encourage confidence in reading, writing and communication

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the English department

• QTS or recognised equivalent

• Strong English subject knowledge

• Experience teaching KS3 and/or KS4

• Excellent classroom management

• Passion for English and education

• Ability to differentiate effectively

• Strong communication skills

• Reliable and adaptable

• ECTs and experienced teachers welcome
