As a Secondary English Teacher, you will support KS3 and KS4 students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Support reading comprehension and analysis
• Develop structured writing skills
• Prepare students for GCSE exams
• Deliver clear lesson plans
• Track progress and provide feedback

The classroom environment

• Lessons are structured and discussion-based
• Students engage with texts
• Behaviour is calm and controlled
• Learning is progressive

Skills and experience

• Strong English subject knowledge
• Ability to develop written skills
• Clear communication
• Organisation and planning

What success looks like

• Students improve writing quality
• Analysis becomes more structured
• Confidence increases

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with English or humanities backgrounds
