Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you will play a key role in inspiring students and supporting their academic, personal, and social development. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging English lessons, helping students to develop their confidence, creativity, literacy skills, and appreciation of literature and language.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured English lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Teach a broad range of English topics, including literature, language, reading, writing, speaking, and communication skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students to participate, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
• Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support where required.
• Support students in developing strong reading, writing, analytical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Prepare and support students for examinations and assessments where appropriate.
• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school team to support students' progress and wellbeing.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements


• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and examination requirements where applicable.
• Excellent subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated, and inclusive lessons.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A passion for English and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
