Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Slough, who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact within a school that values creativity, student voice, and high standards of teaching and learning.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at KS5 for suitably experienced teachers. You’ll deliver engaging, well-planned lessons that nurture students’ reading, writing, and communication skills while fostering a genuine love of English literature and language.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated English lessons
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Planning, marking, and assessing in line with school expectations
  • Supporting students’ academic progress, confidence, and literacy development
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive and established English department

Who This Role Suits

This role is ideal for experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or strong unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience who are confident teaching English at secondary level.

You’ll be well suited if you:

  • Have recent experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
  • Hold QTS (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Can make English accessible, engaging, and relevant to all learners
  • Are reliable, adaptable, and available for a full-time role
