The successful candidate will:

• Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons that promote reading, writing, and critical thinking
• Foster a love of English while maintaining high expectations for progress and attainment
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum within a supportive department
• Take an active role in wider school life, including enrichment activities where appropriate

• A modern and inclusive secondary school with a clear vision and supportive leadership team
• A positive, collaborative staff culture with strong behaviour management
• Well‑resourced classrooms and a commitment to high‑quality teaching and learning
• Conveniently located in Dorchester, with good transport links across Dorset

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
• Strong subject knowledge of the secondary English curriculum
• The ability to engage, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities
• A creative and reflective approach to teaching English
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
