Position: ENGLISH TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Key Stages: KS3 and KS4

Salary:£29,344-£44,919

This role is for an English Teacher teaching KS3 and KS4, where lessons are shaped by anticipation rather than reaction. You will plan for where students stumble, not just where the content sits.

You will teach reading deliberately. You will model writing. You will insist on complete sentences — even when it takes longer.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Teaching literature and language with clarity and progression
  • Breaking down extended writing so students can succeed
  • Embedding routines that make the classroom predictable
  • Using feedback to move learning forward, not just justify grades
  • Preparing pupils for assessments without reducing English to exam drills

This is not a classroom where “discussion” means noise. It means direction.

You will suit this role if:

  • You think carefully about sequencing
  • You are calm under low‑level challenge
  • You believe confidence grows from clarity

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly candidates with strong academic backgrounds in English or prior classroom experience.

Supply Desk can offer you:

  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Recommend a friend bonus scheme
  • Out of hours on-call service
  • Day to day or long-term assignments
