Looking for a Full-Time English Teacher - September 2024 Start

 

Are you a passionate and creative educator with a love for literature and language? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join the department of a great secondary school based in Romford. This full-time position will commence in September but the school are open for the educator to start earlier if preferred. The position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage our students in the wonders of English language and literature.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality English lessons to students across various age and ability levels.
  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking through engaging and interactive classroom activities, discussions, and projects.
  • Explore a diverse range of literary texts, genres, and themes to develop students' analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their writing, communication, and literacy skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching approaches and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment data, following school policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians through effective communication and involvement in school events and activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and literacy standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of literary texts, genres, and literary analysis techniques.
  • Creative and innovative approach to teaching, with a focus on student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and a passion for promoting literacy and language skills.
