Are you a dedicated and passionate English Teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity? Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present a full-time position for an English Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is available immediately after Easter and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As an English Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in the study of English literature and language, fostering their love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing English lessons in line with the national curriculum, catering to students of varying abilities and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons, covering a range of topics including literature, language analysis, creative writing, and more.
  • Literary Exploration: Introduce students to a variety of literary texts, including novels, poems, plays, and non-fiction, fostering their appreciation for literature and developing their analytical skills.
  • Writing Skills: Support students in developing their writing skills across different genres, providing guidance on structure, style, and expression.
  • Language Study: Teach grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary, helping students to refine their language skills and communicate effectively.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment, implementing effective behaviour management strategies to promote a conducive atmosphere for learning.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across the school, sharing best practices and resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking among students.
