Economics Teacher - Sixth Form, DH1 Long-Term Supply | MPS/UPS £32,916 - £51,048 | September 2026

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a qualified Economics Teacher for a sixth form setting in DH1, with a September 2026 start date.

This is a specialist role requiring someone with both the subject knowledge and the academic rigour that sixth form teaching demands. You'll be working with A-Level students who are motivated, engaged, and preparing for university - and the school is looking for a teacher who can meet them at that level, challenge their thinking, and deliver lessons that go beyond the specification.

The role:

  • Delivering A-Level Economics across Year 12 and Year 13
  • Planning lessons that stretch and challenge high-ability sixth form students
  • Preparing students for examinations and supporting with university applications where relevant
  • Assessing and providing detailed, meaningful feedback on student work
  • Contributing to the wider sixth form department and whole-school events
  • Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities

What we're looking for:

  • QTS or equivalent - essential
  • A degree in Economics or a closely related discipline
  • Experience teaching Economics at A-Level
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students at sixth form level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
