A welcoming 1-form entry primary school in Finchley is looking to appoint a dedicated EBSA SEND Teacher to support a Year 3 pupil currently experiencing EBSA and struggling to access education. This Finchley-based role is a unique opportunity to make a genuine impact through a therapeutic, relationship-led approach.

This position in Finchley would suit a compassionate EBSA SEND Teacher who understands the complexities of EBSA and is confident working at an extremely low academic starting point.

The Role
Working as an EBSA SEND Teacher, you will support a pupil through a phased reintegration into learning. The pupil currently accesses a reduced timetable and requires a calm, consistent approach to rebuild trust and engagement following EBSA.

  • Deliver highly personalised sessions.
  • Take a Nurture Teacher approach, prioritising emotional regulation alongside learning
  • Support a gradual return to structured education
  • Work closely with support staff and external professionals around EBSA needs
  • Use interests and motivators to engage the pupil
  • Adapt learning expectations significantly.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver adapted lessons as an EBSA SEND Teacher for a pupil with EBSA
  • Take on a Nurture Teacher role, focusing on trust, consistency, and wellbeing
  • Balance academic input with emotional and social development
  • Track progress and adapt strategies in line with best practice
  • Liaise with SENCO, parents, and external professionals supporting EBSA
  • Create a safe, predictable learning environment.
  • Support long-term reintegration goals as a Nurture Teacher

Requirements

  • Experience working as an EBSA SEND Teacher, Nurture Teacher, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of EBSA, SEMH, ASD, or related needs
  • Ability to work flexibly at a very low academic baseline
  • Patient, calm, and proactive approach.
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
