Reception Teaching Assistant – SEN (Non-Verbal Child)

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Formby is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Reception who is non-verbal.

This is a rewarding role for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, communicate, and thrive within the school environment.

  • Have previous SEN experience, ideally within Early Years
  • Be confident supporting a child who is non-verbal, using communication strategies and visual support
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
  • Be available full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
  • SEN experience is essential
  • Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred (higher rate of pay available for qualified candidates)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • A September start in a lovely, inclusive school
