Early Years Teaching Assistant – BS22 Weston-super-Mare – Full Time

Location: BS22, Weston-super-Mare
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026

Are you a warm and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for early years education? We are working with a welcoming primary school in the BS22 area of Weston-super-Mare who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to support their earliest steps in learning, helping them build confidence, curiosity and a love of school.

The Role:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum
• Helping children access learning through play based and structured activities
• Supporting the development of early literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Assisting with daily routines, transitions and independence skills
• Supporting children's social, emotional and personal development
• Working with small groups and individual children as needed
• Helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
• Contributing to observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework

We Are Looking For:

• Experience working with early years or primary aged children (essential)
• A relevant childcare or education qualification is desirable but not essential
• A warm, patient and encouraging approach
• Someone who enjoys being active and hands on with young learners
• A genuine passion for early years education and child development
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
