Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the LA3 area to recruit a dedicated Early Years SEN Support Assistant for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood development and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.


You will be supporting children within the Early Years setting who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each child’s needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assisting with the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Supporting children with a range of needs, including autism, speech & language delays, and developmental needs
  • Encouraging social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) 
  • Passionate about supporting early years development
  • Patient, compassionate, and resilient
  • Confident working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Able to adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs

Relevant experience may include:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant roles
  • Nursery/Early Years settings with additional needs support
  • Care/support work involving children with disabilities

  • Experience supporting children with SEN or disabilities (Desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or support work are desirable but not essential
