Are you a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in a supportive school or nursery environment?

Teaching Personnel is working with a number of Primary Schools and Nursery settings across Speke, Garston, Hunts Cross, Woolton and surrounding areas who are looking to appoint dedicated Level 2 to Level 6 Teaching Assistants from October 2026.

Whether you're seeking the flexibility of supply work or the consistency of a long-term placement, we have opportunities available to suit your circumstances.

The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children during their early stages of education, helping to create engaging, safe and nurturing learning environments.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher or nursery practitioner with daily activities
  • Working with small groups and individual pupils
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy development
  • Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
  • Encouraging learning through play and child-led activities
  • Observing, recording and reporting on pupil progress
  • Supporting children with additional needs where required
  • Helping to maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • A Level 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 qualification in Childcare, Early Years or Education (or equivalent/higher)
  • Experience working within a Nursery, Preschool, Reception or Primary School setting
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners
  • Knowledge of the EYFS Framework (desirable)
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils is welcomed but not essential
