Job Title: Design & Technology (DT) Teacher (Agency)

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Teacher with a strong engineering background to work on an agency basis across a range of partner secondary schools in Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for flexible work, allowing you to gain experience in different school settings while bringing real-world engineering knowledge into the classroom.
You will deliver engaging DT lessons, with a focus on engineering principles, materials, and practical workshop skills across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, depending on placement. Assignments may vary from short-term cover to longer-term placements.
- Deliver high-quality DT lessons with an engineering focus across different school settings
- Teach students about engineering principles, materials, systems, and processes
- Adapt quickly to new classrooms and maintain continuity of learning
- Prepare and support students for GCSE and/or BTEC examinations where required
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress (where applicable to placement)
- Uphold school policies and contribute positively to each school community
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred but not essential for strong candidates with relevant experience)
- Degree or professional background in Engineering, Design & Technology, or a related field
- Experience teaching DT in a secondary school or relevant industry experience
- Strong practical workshop skills and knowledge of health and safety
- Flexibility, adaptability, and confidence working in different school environments
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
