About the Role
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Dance Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a creative and inspiring Dance Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll encourage pupils to develop their confidence, creativity, performance skills, and passion for dance through engaging and inspiring lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive Dance lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
- Teach pupils across a range of abilities and year groups, supporting their development of dance and performance skills.
- Introduce pupils to a variety of dance styles, techniques, choreography, and performance practices.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, self-expression, and participation.
- Develop pupils' technical skills, physical coordination, musicality, and performance abilities.
- Encourage pupils to develop their own choreography and explore different creative ideas.
- Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Prepare pupils for performances, showcases, school productions, and other creative events where required.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, teamwork, and respect within lessons.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to wider school activities, performances, enrichment opportunities, and extracurricular dance activities where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Music and the relevant curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of Dance and relevant teaching practices.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for Dance and inspiring pupils through creative and engaging teaching.
- The ability to plan and deliver imaginative and stimulating Dance lessons.
- Strong performance, choreography, and practical dance skills.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
