Cover Supervisor –   Bournemouth

Contract: Full-time / Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)
Salary: £95-£120 per day

We're seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools throughout Bournemouth.

You'll supervise pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, manage classroom behaviour, and help create a positive learning environment where students can continue to thrive. No teaching qualification is required, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, and experienced education professionals.

The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absence. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans
• Creating and maintaining a calm, focused and productive learning environment
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils to stay on task and engage with their learning
• Assisting with additional duties when not required to cover lessons

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a genuine interest in supporting young people and education
• Is confident, adaptable and able to manage a classroom effectively
• Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Is flexible and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups
• Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
• A valid Child only Enhanced DBS certificate is required, or willingness to obtain one in line with safeguarding and DfE guidance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
