Cover Teacher - Secondary School, Salisbury
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term with the potential for a permanent position
Salary: £140-£160 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cover Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Salisbury area from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school is seeking a confident and adaptable teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects, maintain strong classroom management, and support students in achieving their full potential.
This role would suit a qualified teacher, Early Career Teacher (ECT), or experienced educator looking to secure a rewarding long-term teaching position within a thriving school community.
As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups, ensuring continuity of learning during staff absence. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, manage behaviour effectively, and encourage students to remain engaged and motivated in their learning.
Working alongside teaching and pastoral teams, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student wellbeing throughout the school.
Our partner school is a well-established and inclusive secondary academy that prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where students are encouraged to pursue ambitious goals and achieve their full potential. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum, celebrates individuality, and promotes values such as respect, ambition, and excellence throughout school life. Students benefit from strong pastoral support, a welcoming community atmosphere, and a leadership team committed to both student success and staff development.
The school has developed a positive reputation for fostering an inclusive culture where students feel safe, valued, and supported, with high expectations for learning and behaviour. Staff enjoy strong working relationships with students and are encouraged to contribute to the wider life of the school.
