Do you have previous experience leading a classroom? Are you confident and passionate about supporting young people in their learning?

Academics, a leading education recruitment agency based in Stoke-on-Trent, is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in North Staffordshire to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor for an immediate start.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity. The successful candidate will initially work on a temporary basis, with the view of securing a permanent position within the school for the right fit.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play an important role in maintaining continuity in students' learning when their usual teacher is absent.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
• Maintaining a positive, productive and inclusive learning environment.
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively.
• Keeping students engaged, focused and on task throughout lessons.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.
• Providing feedback and a brief handover to teaching staff at the end of each lesson.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you:

• Have a confident, professional and positive classroom presence.
• Can manage behaviour effectively and build positive relationships with young people.
• Have at least two months' UK-based experience working with young people (e.g., schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring etc)
• Are reliable, adaptable and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups.
• Have strong communication and organisational skills.
• Are passionate about supporting young people's education and development.
