Are you a confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused, and supported throughout their lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide constructive feedback to the relevant teacher regarding pupils' work, behaviour, and any issues that arise.
  • Support pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
  • Follow individual pupil support plans and school behaviour policies where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and any incidents that occur during lessons.
  • Liaise effectively with teachers, Heads of Department, pastoral staff, and other members of the school team.
  • Support pupils during break times, lunchtimes, examinations, school trips, and other activities where required.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the school and contribute positively to the wider school community.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, child protection, behaviour, health and safety, and confidentiality.
  • Attend relevant meetings, training, and professional development opportunities where required.
  • Be flexible and willing to cover different subjects and year groups as needed.

  • Have a positive and proactive approach to supporting pupils' learning and development.
  • Be able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and the importance of promoting pupils' welfare.
