Salary:  SCP 7-11 - £27,274 - £29,071 FTE Pro rata £20,606 - £22,356 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay

THE ROLE

We wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our Cover Team to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence and undertaking other duties such as tutor-time supervision, break/lunch duties, providing flexible support across the school by assisting the Pastoral and SEND teams and carrying out administrative tasks when required to ensure consistent care, support, and continuity of learning for all our students.

Applicants must be adaptable and resilient with good interpersonal skills. The ability to gain the respect of students is essential.   Applicants should ideally have had previous experience of working with young people between the ages of 11 to 16.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and prompting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and all necessary safeguarding checks before employment commences.

As a Cover supervisor you will supervise whole classes to cover absences of teachers and to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training. Cover supervisors will give instructions for the lesson, as provided by the teacher, and keep students on task while maintaining good order. Cover supervisors will respond to general questions and provide general feedback to the teacher.

The first three months of employment shall be a probationary period and employment may be terminated by the Trust during this period at any time on one week's prior written notice.  The Trust may, at its absolute discretion, extend this period for one month. During this probationary period, performance and suitability for continued employment will be monitored.
