Are you a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning and supporting students across a range of subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students complete the work provided.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and instructions clearly and effectively across a range of subjects.
- Maintain a positive, calm, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Monitor students' behaviour and ensure the school's behaviour policies and expectations are followed.
- Support students with their learning, answering questions and providing appropriate guidance where required.
- Take accurate registers and report any concerns regarding attendance, behaviour, or safeguarding.
- Ensure students remain engaged, focused, and on task throughout lessons.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the wider school team to promote student progress and wellbeing.
- Support the smooth running of the school, including duties and other responsibilities as required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Confident in supervising students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
- A calm, professional, and approachable manner.
- A commitment to supporting students' learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
