Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

Supply Desk is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in the Southampton area. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you're considering a future career in teaching or already have experience working with young people.

Working across a variety of subjects, including regular PE lessons, you'll play an important role in ensuring students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences across KS3 and KS4.

  • Supervise classes and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged.

  • Support positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

  • Provide guidance and clarification on lesson tasks where appropriate.

  • Cover a range of curriculum areas, including Physical Education.

  • Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.

  • Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.

  • A degree is desirable but not essential.

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous.

  • Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.

  • Confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations.

  • Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different subjects and year groups.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Competitive daily pay of £100–£120, depending on experience.
