Overview of the role:

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting full-time Cover Supervisors for a range of secondary schools in and around the Old Trafford area of Manchester. With several vacancies available, these roles are ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced education professionals. We are looking for individuals with previous experience working as a cover supervisor or in a similar education-based role.

Successful candidates will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a positive learning environment.

These cover supervisor roles are for September start with the potential to continue throughout the whole academic year and possibly go on to a permanent school-based contract.

Pay: £95 -  £110 per day dependent on experience, qualifications and specific school.

Duties:

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of the classroom teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work.
• Create and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support students with questions relating to the set work.
• Record attendance and report any behavioural or safeguarding concerns.
• Work across a variety of subjects and year groups as required.

Qualifications/ Experience:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable
• Degree-level education is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confident leading groups of students and managing behaviour effectively.
• Adaptable, professional, and reliable approach to work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
