Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide essential support to the school by supervising classes and maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. You will cover a variety of subjects and year groups, ensuring continuity of learning and fostering a supportive atmosphere conducive to student engagement and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans and delivering activities to support student learning across a range of subjects.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and orderly environment, promoting positive relationships and mutual respect among students.
  • Support students with their learning by providing assistance and guidance as needed, facilitating their engagement with lesson content and activities.
  • Cover a variety of subject areas, including but not limited to English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and the Arts, adapting to the needs of each class and ensuring effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the school day and the effective management of student behavior and learning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cover a range of subjects and year groups as required by the school.
  • Willingness to undergo vetting procedures conducted by Teaching Personnel.
