Are you confident, reliable, and looking to gain valuable experience working in a secondary school?

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for schools across South Manchester and the surrounding areas, with opportunities available for flexible daily supply work as well as longer-term placements.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with their work and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.

You will be expected to:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-set work and ensure pupils remain on task.
  • Confidently manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage good behaviour.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Support pupils with their learning where appropriate.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding the lesson and any issues that arise.
  • Adapt to different schools, year groups, and classroom environments.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are:

  • Confident and comfortable managing a classroom.
  • Reliable, professional, and approachable.
  • Able to build positive relationships with young people.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different school environments.
  • Able to follow instructions and confidently supervise pre-set lessons.
  • Interested in gaining experience within secondary education.

Trainee teachers, graduates, teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers, and candidates with previous classroom or education experience are all encouraged to apply.
