Position: Computer Science Teacher

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Teaching Personnel are working with an excellent school based in Hemel Hempstead who are actively recruiting for a Computer Science Teacher.

The ideal educator will be a fully qualified teacher and will have experience delivering the Computer Science curriculum to KS3 and KS4. They must also have a strong passion for teaching Computer Science and be able to convey this to their students to ensure they receive the best possible learning experience. They will also be required to help out with some general cover across the school as well.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging computer science lessons that encompass a range of topics, from programming languages to algorithms and cybersecurity.
  •  Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and innovate with technology.
  • Incorporate hands-on activities, coding projects, and real-world applications to bring abstract concepts to life and deepen understanding.
  •  Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through group projects, hackathons, and coding competitions.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the field of computer science, and inspire students to embrace lifelong learning and adaptability
  • Help out with general cover lessons where needed when not teaching Computer Science

Requirements

  • Qualification in computer science or a related field
  • Qualification in teaching (QTS or equivalent ideally)
  • Strong knowledge of computer science concepts, programming languages and technologies
  • Great communication and presentation skills
  • Good classroom management
  • General cover experience
  • Child only enhanced DBS
  • Overseas police clearance (If applicable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
