Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? We are currently recruiting Complex Needs Support Assistants to work across specialist and mainstream ALN settings in Carmarthenshire.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of moderate to severe needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Physical disabilities
  • Complex learning and behavioural needs

You will play a key role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access education, build independence, and achieve their full potential.


  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support
  • Assist pupils with personal care where required
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment

  • ✅ Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • ✅ EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration (or willingness to register)
  • ✅ Relevant experience in one or more of the following is desirable:
    • Care work
    • Support work
    • Health & social care
  • ✅ A compassionate, patient and resilient approach
  • ✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
