Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? Do you want a role where every day brings the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting difference?

A highly supportive and well-established SEN school in Tameside, catering to both primary and secondary-aged pupils, is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Assistant to join their inclusive and nurturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a setting that truly prioritises student wellbeing, personalised learning, and staff development.

The school supports pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and SEMH. You will play a vital role in helping students access education in a way that works for them, supporting both their academic progress and personal development.

The school is well-equipped with specialist facilities designed to meet the needs of its learners. These include sensory rooms, soft play areas, quiet breakout spaces, therapy rooms, and adapted classrooms that promote a calm, structured, and engaging learning environment. Outdoor learning spaces are also used to support regulation and engagement.

You will be working alongside a highly experienced team of teachers, SEN specialists, therapists, and support staff, all of whom are committed to creating a positive and collaborative environment. Staff are well-supported through regular training, mentoring, and opportunities for progression.

The school is conveniently located in Tameside with excellent public transport links and on-site parking available, making it easily accessible whether you drive or rely on public transport.

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Support students with learning, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Assist with the delivery of individual education plans (EHCPs)
