Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools in Bolton and Wigan. These roles are full-time and offer excellent long-term opportunities, including temp-to-perm placements for the right candidates.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and who can bring patience, resilience, and a positive attitude into the classroom.
- Support pupils with SEN and SEMH needs in both classroom and specialist settings
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and differentiated activities
- Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social development needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques where required
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and wellbeing
- May include personal care duties depending on pupil needs and school requirements
- Support pupils with daily routines, transitions, and structured activities
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support individual learning plans
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH preferred)
- Strong understanding of behaviour support and safeguarding practices
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners
- Willingness to support personal care if required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
