We are looking for a passionate and engaging Citizenship Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale from October 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to join a supportive school where you can make a real difference to students' understanding of society, politics and the wider world.

As a Citizenship Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop their knowledge, confidence and critical thinking skills.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Citizenship lessons
  • Teach students across KS3 and KS4
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations where required
  • Encourage students to engage with current affairs and wider social issues
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Citizenship within a secondary school
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the subject
  • Be confident managing a classroom and creating a positive learning environment
  • Be able to engage students with a range of topics and perspectives
